Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22nd August 2026

1. Who we are

There We Are Then Events is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at hello@therewearethenevents.co.uk with any privacy questions or requests.

2. What we collect

When you get in touch or book with us, we typically collect: your name, email address and phone number; details about your event (date, type, venue, guest count); payment information needed to process bookings; and any other information you choose to share with us, for example dietary requirements or accessibility needs relevant to planning your event.

3. How we use it

We use your information to respond to enquiries, plan and deliver your event, process payments, share it with suppliers where relevant to your booking (see below), and — only with your consent — send occasional updates about our services. We don't sell your data to third parties.

4. Sharing with suppliers

Where your event requires it, we share relevant details with the suppliers we book on your behalf — for example, a caterer needs your dietary information, a venue needs your guest count. We only share what's necessary for them to deliver their part of your event.

5. How we store it

Your information is stored in our client management system and our email provider, both of which take their own security measures. We keep your data only as long as needed to deliver our services and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete it.

6. Cookies

This site is built on Squarespace, which places some cookies automatically to make the site work properly. These include cookies that keep pages functioning correctly. Squarespace also sets a small number of analytics cookies by default, which help us see aggregate information such as visitor numbers and traffic sources — these don't identify you personally.

If we add Google Analytics, a marketing pixel, or any other third-party tool in future, we'll update this section to name it and request consent through an on-site cookie banner where required. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so may affect how some parts of the site work.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you think we've handled your data incorrectly. To exercise any of these, email hello@therewearethenevents.co.uk.

8. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if how we handle your data changes, and update the "last updated" date at the top
